AKADAMA Soft Pumice
High quality akadama soil "Clay Best".
Natural akadama soil mined from the akadama soil layer near Mibu-machi, Tochigi Prefecture, is dried in the sun and then calcined.
It is especially effective for growing Bonsai, cacti, and succulents in pots.
After natural drying and firing at high temperature (about 300℃*) for 30 to 60 minutes, the hardness of akadama soil is extremely high, making it difficult for the soil to lose its shape. Therefore, it can be used for a long time with drainage, water retention, and air permeability.
The powder is removed using a powder removal machine in 3 stages.
*If fired at too high a temperature, it will become ceramic and no longer pumice. For this reason, we fire at 300 degree Celsius.
